Everything Changes
NITA started as an experiment. We asked ourselves: How can we do Jewish different? Turns out, even asking the question was more than a decent start.
There are hundreds of you who resonated with our simple idea of “doing jewish stuff” in new ways. And all that Jewish stuff changed some lives. Mine included.
So, it’s bittersweet to announce that I’ve been given an opportunity to expand on some of these ideas. Starting in July, with a core team of talented people, I will be launching a new religion 2.0 project called The Kitchen. It will be based in San Francisco and it will be rad.
You can sign up here to find out more about it.
Thankfully, NITA will continue at Congregation Rodef Sholom. While I will no longer be the rabbi, Nita will go on doing the things you have grown to love: the informal shabbats, the alternative high holiday services, and the hikes will all continue. (For upcoming NITA and NITA friendly events, click here.) And there are plans for social justice projects, too. I expect nothing less than greatness.
If you aren’t already on the NITA list and would like to be, sign up here.
(And yes, you can sign up for both lists.)
In Hebrew, NITA means “we will grow”. That’s what we did and what we’ll continue to do–no matter where it happens to be.
